MANILA, Philippines, October 12, 2009 – Trends & Technologies Holding, Inc (TTHI) unites with the rest of the nation in doing its part to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy (International name: Ketsana). The typhoon which hit Metro Manila and its surrounding areas last September 25 caused massive flooding with the month’s worth of rainfall that it brought. As a result, thousands of families either lost their homes or had to evacuate to relief shelters in order to save themselves.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, the administration of TTHI immediately put into action a relief program which will give aid to some of the typhoon victims.

TTHI’s management and employees then pooled their resources to raise cash and relief goods for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Everyone participated in the packing of the grocery items which included bottled water, clothing, food items, toiletries, medicine and beddings.

On October 10, 2009, Saturday, the goods were delivered to the communities of Binangonan and Cardona, Rizal –towns that were heavily flooded by the typhoon. In the true spirit of “bayanihan” or the Filipinos’ traditional values of community and cooperation, one by one, the supply bags were carried off of the delivery trucks and into the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office in the area. At that time, boats were the only means of access to the flooded towns.

There’s still a lot to be done. Countless families will need all the help they can get, in order to set their lives back to normal. But if everybody does their part to lend a hand, then we can all be assured that the Philippines shall truly be able to weather this storm.
